Within a system
The Iccrea Banking Group unites the exclusive supply companies that provide products and services to the about 400 Cooperative Credit Banks in Italy.
Iccrea BancaImpresa is thus an integral part of an associative and business project involving a highly articulated system of local cooperative banks dispersed all over Italy.
Cooperative Banks
The Cooperative Credit Banks (BCC) form a strongly rooted and widespread network throughout Italy.
The Italian Cooperative Credit banking system was established towards the end of the 1800s, with the foundation of the first Casse Rurali and Casse Artigiane Banks among rural populations in order to provide loans at advantageous conditions and basing their policy on a very close attention to individuals while at the same time depending on the self-financing capacity of their members. Ever since, each Cooperative Credit Bank has maintained a close and profound relationship with their reference territory, interweaving their own history with that of the local community.
Cooperative Credit statistics
- About 400 Cooperative Credit Banks
- More than 4,000 branches
- Over 1 million members
- 37,000 employees
- 6,8 million customers
The BCCs are supported on one hand by the associative network and on the other hand by the business system.
The associative network
The main reference institution is Federcasse, the national federation of Cooperative Credit Banks (BCCs). Federcasse is the representative body and guardian of interests of the BCCs. Federcasse comprises 15 regional and interregional Federations of which the individual BCCs are direct members. The Federations have the duty to provide consulting services and operational support to individual banks. Federcasse is responsible for general coordination of the system, trade union representation, protecting the general interests of BCCs, and management of external relations and communications.
The business system
The Iccrea Banking Group provides an integrated range of services designed to enhance the operational capacity of each individual bank (institutional segment), to provide, exclusively for operating credit customers, a system of products and services for small and medium-sized companies (corporate segment), and for family savings (retail segment).
Iccrea BancaImpresa oversees the corporate segment, providing a vast range of products for the customer companies of the BCCs.
